Netflix’s Korean dating show Better Late Than Single is back with a new group of adults who have little or no in-person dating experience.
The contestants enter Solo Village on Jeju Island, where they receive help with personal style, confidence, communication, and dating. They then live together while exploring their first serious romantic connections.
Season 2 premiered on July 7, 2026. New episodes are scheduled to be released through July 28. According to Marie Claire’s Season 2 cast guide, more than 17,000 people applied to join the show.
Better Late Than Single Season 2 Cast
Season 2 starts with eight original contestants. Four additional participants, called game changers, enter Solo Village later and create new romantic possibilities.
Kim Jae-seo
Kim Jae-seo is a 32-year-old game developer and a graduate of the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology, better known as KAIST.
He reportedly worked on the original development team for PUBG: Battlegrounds. His demanding career took up much of his time for nearly a decade, leaving him with few opportunities to date.
Before entering Solo Village, Jae-seo changes his appearance by darkening his gray hair and removing his facial hair. He hopes the experience will help him become more comfortable expressing romantic interest.
Jeon Seo-yoon
Jeon Seo-yoon is 29 and a dedicated NCT DREAM fan.
As she approaches her 30s, she has started thinking more seriously about relationships and marriage. She hopes to meet someone who can share her everyday interests and possibly attend concerts with her.
Seo-yoon brings a cheerful personality to the show, but she has limited experience turning friendly conversations into romantic ones.
Yoon Jung-yun
Yoon Jung-yun is 26 and one of the youngest Season 2 contestants.
He describes himself as a shy homebody who had never attended a blind date or group date before joining the show. He becomes nervous around unfamiliar people and sometimes has difficulty maintaining eye contact.
Jung-yun also discusses how sweaty hands make introductions and physical contact more uncomfortable for him. Before entering Solo Village, he participates in practice dates to improve his confidence and conversation skills.
Choi Hyun-seo
Choi Hyun-seo is a 27-year-old artist who enjoys anime and manga. One of her favorite characters is Toshiro Hijikata from Gintama.
She attended art-focused schools and spent much of her time in environments where she had few chances to meet potential partners.
Although she became interested in dating during her mid-20s, men often treated her more like a younger sister than a romantic match. She is attracted to reserved men with dark hair, sharp eyes, and a serious personality.
Lee Han-ju
Lee Han-ju is a 27-year-old Korean medicine doctor.
Her work includes traditional treatments such as acupuncture, herbal medicine, and Chuna manual therapy. She considered applying for Season 1 but decided not to participate.
After another year of unsuccessful blind dates and introductions, she applied for Season 2. Han-ju is sociable and direct, although she admits that her blunt communication style has sometimes caused misunderstandings.
She tends to be attracted to handsome, idol-like men with a slightly rebellious image.
Ahn Seung-hyun
Ahn Seung-hyun is 30 and decided to apply after watching the first season with a friend.
As more people around him began getting married, he started worrying that he was falling behind. He wants a relationship but often becomes nervous and loses track of what he wants to say during important conversations.
Before the show, Seung-hyun works with a communication coach who helps him organize his thoughts and speak more clearly.
Kim Soo-hyun
Kim Soo-hyun is a confident 28-year-old whose family frequently asks about her dating life.
Her mother and sisters are especially interested in when she will start a relationship or get married. Her mother even interrupts one of Soo-hyun’s conversations with the producers.
Despite the family pressure, Soo-hyun enters Solo Village with a positive attitude and appears open to meeting someone naturally.
Choi Hyuk-joon
Choi Hyuk-joon is 31 and has been cautious about romance since experiencing unrequited love in college.
That disappointment made him hesitant to approach people he likes. Instead, he often waits for clear signs that his feelings will be returned.
Before entering the show, Hyuk-joon receives coaching that encourages him to be more proactive. He also takes voice lessons to improve the confidence and clarity of his speech.
Better Late Than Single Season 2 Game Changers
Four additional contestants enter Solo Village after the original cast has started forming connections. Their arrival gives the participants a chance to explore new relationships.
Lee Jin-woo
Lee Jin-woo is 26 and has an unusual romantic history.
During the COVID period, he met someone through an anonymous messaging app. They communicated as a couple for about a year but never met in person.
Although he has technically experienced an online relationship, he has very little face-to-face dating experience. After losing weight and becoming more confident, he decided to try meeting someone in person.
Han Su-ji
Han Su-ji is a 26-year-old potter who previously studied illustration overseas.
She grew up between South Korea and the United Kingdom, which helped her become independent at a young age. However, pottery is often solitary work, and she has had limited opportunities to meet potential partners.
Su-ji knows that her quiet confidence can make her seem difficult to approach. She joins the show determined to express her feelings more openly and says she hopes to leave Solo Village with a boyfriend.
An Jeong-eun
An Jeong-eun is 30 and had previously been contacted by other dating programs.
She chose Better Late Than Single after watching the first season with her family. Difficult experiences with other children when she was younger affected her confidence and made her more cautious around unfamiliar people.
Jeong-eun joins the show hoping to stop avoiding uncomfortable emotions and give herself a genuine opportunity to build a relationship.
Kim Tae-hoon
Kim Tae-hoon is a 29-year-old game changer who enters Solo Village ready to pursue the person he likes.
He briefly dated someone in middle school, although his friends do not consider it a serious relationship. He also admits that his unfiltered communication style caused arguments when he was younger.
Unlike some of the more hesitant contestants, Tae-hoon plans to be direct about his feelings instead of waiting for someone else to make the first move.
